Brief outline of training

This course is accredited and approved by ANZCOR (Australia New Zealand Council of Resuscitation), and is nationally approved and accredited by ASQA Australian Skills Quality Authority.

It is designed for those who require training that conforms to the recommendations of the Australian Resuscitation Council and provides the knowledge and skills to provide first aid response, life support, management of the casualty(s) and resuscitation.

Who should attend this course

This course is suitable for anyone requiring a senior first aid certificate (now known as Apply First Aid HLTAID011),

First aid training is highly valued by employers and in many cases a requirement of employment. There's no need to miss out on that great new job for lack of a first aid certificate.

No matter who you are it pays to have first aid skills because you can't learn them in an emergency.

Pre-requisites

Student handbook and multiple choice assessment is to be completed prior to attending the course. Participants must be 14 years or older.

Recognition of prior learning

Asset Training recognises accredited training by other Registered Training Organisations, work & life experience and previous training for the RPL process.

Applications for recognition of prior learning should be made via the online enrolment form.

Assessment

Practical and Written Assessments - Practical assessment comprised of a scenario with an observation checklist used by the assessor. Competence may be demonstrated working either individually, under supervision or as part of a First Aid Team.
Assessment will take place in simulated conditions that replicate First Aid and CPR situations as realistically as possible. Participants will be given scenarios and where necessary this will include first aid equipment and resuscitation manikins. Written assessment comprised of multiple choice questions.

Important information

Due to an increased demand in our Industrial Maintenance and Waste Water Management courses Asset Training is only receiving GROUP BOOKINGS for PROVIDE FIRST AID (Senior First Aid) training (minimum 5). Asset Training is able to work outside of its training calendar to facilitate Group Bookings.

The practical assessment portion of this course is physically demanding and requires actual resuscitation practices to be performed on manikins. Please advise if you feel you may have difficulties.
